# DTE PowerControl vs Garmin Dive™

The clearest difference is rating: Garmin Dive™ at 4.8 against DTE PowerControl's 3.0. Garmin Dive™ also leads on ratings volume (852 vs 4). DTE PowerControl's advantage is review sentiment (68% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Garmin Dive™ holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Garmin Dive™ has 852 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of DTE PowerControl's written reviews are positive against 50% of Garmin Dive™'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DTE PowerControl ships an update every 2 months, Garmin Dive™ every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
