# Study.com vs NYSTCE Math

The clearest difference is rating: NYSTCE Math at 4.8 against Study.com's 4.2. Study.com's advantage is ratings volume (3.8K vs 20) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Study.com sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and NYSTCE Math sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NYSTCE Math holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Study.com has 3.8K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Study.com ships an update every 2 months, NYSTCE Math every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
