# InitialView vs TartanConnect

The clearest difference is review sentiment: InitialView at 100% against TartanConnect's 0%. InitialView also leads on ratings volume (14 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.4). TartanConnect's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 2.7) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TartanConnect holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of InitialView's written reviews are positive against 0% of TartanConnect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

InitialView ships an update monthly, TartanConnect every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
