# The Drinking Game vs Challenge

The clearest difference is monetization model: Challenge at free against The Drinking Game's free with in-app purchases. Challenge also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). The Drinking Game's advantage is ratings volume (390 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Drinking Game sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Challenge sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Challenge holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Drinking Game has 390 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Drinking Game ships an update every 2 months, Challenge every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
