# TotalAV vs Safe Security App

The clearest difference is update cadence: Safe Security App at every 4 days against TotalAV's every 6 weeks. Safe Security App also leads on review sentiment (44% vs 24%). TotalAV's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (72K vs 5.3K). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TotalAV sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Safe Security App sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TotalAV holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TotalAV has 72K ratings behind it against 5.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of TotalAV's written reviews are positive against 44% of Safe Security App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TotalAV ships an update every 6 weeks, Safe Security App every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
