# TotalAV vs MechaOBD

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MechaOBD at 100% against TotalAV's 24%. MechaOBD also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). TotalAV's advantage is ratings volume (72K vs 2) and chart position (#86 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TotalAV sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and MechaOBD sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MechaOBD holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TotalAV has 72K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
