# BimmerCode vs OV Handheld

The clearest difference is rating: BimmerCode at 4.7 against OV Handheld's 3.7. BimmerCode also leads on ratings volume (21K vs 13) and chart position (#87 vs unranked). OV Handheld's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BimmerCode sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. OV Handheld asks for nothing beyond the download.

BimmerCode holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BimmerCode has 21K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of BimmerCode's written reviews are positive against 67% of OV Handheld's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BimmerCode ships an update every 2 months, OV Handheld every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
