# SnowZat vs Hotham

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hotham at every 10 days against SnowZat's every 2 months. Hotham also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). SnowZat's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (392 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hotham holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnowZat has 392 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of SnowZat's written reviews are positive against 41% of Hotham's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SnowZat ships an update every 2 months, Hotham every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
