# Africall vs Playbacks

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Playbacks at 84% against Africall's 15%. Playbacks also leads on rating (4.8 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Africall sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Playbacks sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Playbacks holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Playbacks has 1.3K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 15% of Africall's written reviews are positive against 84% of Playbacks's.

Africall ships an update monthly, Playbacks every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
