# Twinkly vs BLÜ

The clearest difference is rating: Twinkly at 4.6 against BLÜ's 3.9. Twinkly also leads on ratings volume (48K vs 15). BLÜ's advantage is review sentiment (55% vs 38%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Twinkly holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Twinkly has 48K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Twinkly's written reviews are positive against 55% of BLÜ's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
