# HP Sprocket vs Imation Photo Printer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Imation Photo Printer at 100% against HP Sprocket's 43%. Imation Photo Printer also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.6). HP Sprocket's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (65K vs 6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HP Sprocket holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HP Sprocket has 65K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of HP Sprocket's written reviews are positive against 100% of Imation Photo Printer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HP Sprocket ships an update every 3 weeks, Imation Photo Printer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
