# Book Reader For PDF vs Total Reader

The clearest difference is rating: Total Reader at 3.8 against Book Reader For PDF's 2.6. Total Reader also leads on ratings volume (37 vs 5). Book Reader For PDF's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Total Reader sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Book Reader For PDF asks for nothing beyond the download.

Total Reader holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 2.6.
