# WhiteBoard by LiveBoard vs Hanwei

The clearest difference is update cadence: WhiteBoard by LiveBoard at every 9 days against Hanwei's every 2 months. WhiteBoard by LiveBoard also leads on ratings volume (346 vs 2) and rating (4.2 vs 4.0). Hanwei's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 48%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WhiteBoard by LiveBoard sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Hanwei sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WhiteBoard by LiveBoard holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WhiteBoard by LiveBoard has 346 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of WhiteBoard by LiveBoard's written reviews are positive against 75% of Hanwei's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WhiteBoard by LiveBoard ships an update every 9 days, Hanwei every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
