# My Leviton vs Kinetic switch

The clearest difference is review sentiment: My Leviton at 85% against Kinetic switch's 33%. My Leviton also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (6.4K vs 3). Kinetic switch's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Kinetic switch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Leviton has 6.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of My Leviton's written reviews are positive against 33% of Kinetic switch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

My Leviton ships an update fortnightly, Kinetic switch every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
