# Idiom vs DMLS

Idiom and DMLS both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 91% of Idiom's written reviews are positive against 0% of DMLS's. Idiom also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (176 vs 5). DMLS's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Idiom sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and DMLS sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DMLS holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Idiom has 176 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of Idiom's written reviews are positive against 0% of DMLS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Idiom ships an update every 9 days, DMLS weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
