# SchoolCafé vs Artsonia

The clearest difference is monetization model: SchoolCafé at free against Artsonia's free with in-app purchases. SchoolCafé also leads on ratings volume (111K vs 1.4K) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 14 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for SchoolCafé against 4.9 for Artsonia. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SchoolCafé has 111K ratings behind it against 1.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 77% of SchoolCafé's written reviews are positive against 62% of Artsonia's.

SchoolCafé ships an update every 3 months, Artsonia every 14 months. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
