# Smart Stopwatch and Timer vs BigSeconds

The clearest difference is rating: Smart Stopwatch and Timer at 5.0 against BigSeconds's 4.3. BigSeconds's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (13 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Smart Stopwatch and Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and BigSeconds sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Smart Stopwatch and Timer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BigSeconds has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Smart Stopwatch and Timer ships an update every 3 months, BigSeconds monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 18, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
