# Telmex vs Cargo

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cargo at free against Telmex's free with in-app purchases. Cargo also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). Telmex's advantage is ratings volume (6.3K vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cargo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Telmex has 6.3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Telmex ships an update monthly, Cargo every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
