# Squarecap Mobile vs MyUT Austin

The clearest difference is update cadence: Squarecap Mobile at every 10 days against MyUT Austin's every 3 months. Squarecap Mobile also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.0). MyUT Austin's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (50 vs 9). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MyUT Austin holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyUT Austin has 50 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Squarecap Mobile's written reviews are positive against 35% of MyUT Austin's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Squarecap Mobile ships an update every 10 days, MyUT Austin every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
