# Prepware Remote Pilot UAS vs Part 107

The clearest difference is price: Part 107 at Free against Prepware Remote Pilot UAS's $4.99. Part 107 also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 4 months). Prepware Remote Pilot UAS's advantage is review sentiment (65% vs 26%) and in-app purchases (none vs 10). On device support there is nothing between them.

Part 107 is free to download; Prepware Remote Pilot UAS costs $4.99 up front. Part 107 sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Prepware Remote Pilot UAS asks for nothing beyond the download.

Part 107 holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Part 107 has 1.1K ratings behind it against 102, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Prepware Remote Pilot UAS's written reviews are positive against 26% of Part 107's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Prepware Remote Pilot UAS ships an update every 4 months, Part 107 every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
