# Infuse vs MX Player

The clearest difference is ads: Infuse at none against MX Player's shown. Infuse also leads on chart position (#169 vs unranked) and ratings volume (29K vs 4.9K). MX Player's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Infuse sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and MX Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Infuse against 4.6 for MX Player. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Infuse has 29K ratings behind it against 4.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 60% of Infuse's written reviews are positive against 58% of MX Player's.

Infuse ships an update fortnightly, MX Player every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
