# 口袋魔方 vs acubemy

The clearest difference is monetization model: acubemy at free with in-app purchases against 口袋魔方's subscription. acubemy also leads on review sentiment (80% vs 43%) and ratings volume (29 vs 3). 口袋魔方's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 口袋魔方 sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and acubemy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

口袋魔方 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: acubemy has 29 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of 口袋魔方's written reviews are positive against 80% of acubemy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

口袋魔方 ships an update every 2 weeks, acubemy every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
