# Candleman vs SILT

The clearest difference is update cadence: SILT at every 5 days against Candleman's every 11 months. SILT also leads on ratings volume (3.6K vs 41) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Candleman's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (88% vs 77%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Candleman sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SILT sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SILT holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SILT has 3.6K ratings behind it against 41, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Candleman's written reviews are positive against 77% of SILT's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Candleman ships an update every 11 months, SILT every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
