# Chaps & Co vs Viya

The clearest difference is rating: Viya at 4.6 against Chaps & Co's 3.0. Viya also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 18 months) and ratings volume (354 vs 4). Chaps & Co's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (50% vs 30%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Viya holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Viya has 354 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Chaps & Co's written reviews are positive against 30% of Viya's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chaps & Co ships an update every 18 months, Viya every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
