# Earth++ vs Wind Map

The clearest difference is rating: Earth++ at 4.4 against Wind Map's 3.6. Earth++ also leads on ratings volume (285 vs 36). Wind Map's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and review sentiment (63% vs 50%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Earth++ sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Wind Map asks for nothing beyond the download.

Earth++ holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Earth++ has 285 ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Earth++'s written reviews are positive against 63% of Wind Map's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Earth++ ships an update every 3 months, Wind Map every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
