# Stepz vs Step Counter ⓒ

The clearest difference is rating: Step Counter ⓒ at 4.5 against Stepz's 1.0. Step Counter ⓒ also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (4.2K vs 1). Stepz's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Step Counter ⓒ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Stepz asks for nothing beyond the download.

Step Counter ⓒ holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Step Counter ⓒ has 4.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Stepz's written reviews are positive against 73% of Step Counter ⓒ's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stepz ships an update every 7 months, Step Counter ⓒ fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
