# OCR Buddy vs CVG Nation

The clearest difference is ratings volume: CVG Nation at 2.2K against OCR Buddy's 36. OCR Buddy's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for OCR Buddy against 4.9 for CVG Nation. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CVG Nation has 2.2K ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 97% and 97% positive.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
