# Under a Spell vs Shufflescape

The clearest difference is ads: Shufflescape at none against Under a Spell's shown. Shufflescape also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (daily vs fortnightly). Under a Spell's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 6) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Under a Spell sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Shufflescape sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Shufflescape holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Under a Spell has 1.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of Under a Spell's written reviews are positive against 100% of Shufflescape's.

Under a Spell ships an update fortnightly, Shufflescape daily. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
