# Sardi's vs Ugly Dumpling

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Sardi's at 907 against Ugly Dumpling's 79. Sardi's also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Ugly Dumpling's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Sardi's against 4.8 for Ugly Dumpling. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sardi's has 907 ratings behind it against 79, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
