# Quick Reads vs Tormento

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Quick Reads at none against Tormento's 1. Tormento's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.9) and update cadence (daily vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tormento sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Quick Reads asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tormento holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tormento has 166 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 67% and 67% positive.

Quick Reads ships an update every 2 months, Tormento daily. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
