# Playground vs Flash Notes Flash Cards

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Flash Notes Flash Cards at 86% against Playground's 46%. Flash Notes Flash Cards also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Playground's advantage is update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 42 months) and rating (4.8 vs 4.4). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Playground holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Playground has 5K ratings behind it against 37, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Playground's written reviews are positive against 86% of Flash Notes Flash Cards's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Playground ships an update every 6 weeks, Flash Notes Flash Cards every 42 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
