# Shot Tracer vs SmoothSwing

The clearest difference is price: SmoothSwing at Free against Shot Tracer's $5.99. SmoothSwing also leads on rating (4.8 vs 1.8) and review sentiment (50% vs 11%). Shot Tracer's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly) and chart position (#1 vs unranked). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

SmoothSwing is free to download; Shot Tracer costs $5.99 up front. Shot Tracer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and SmoothSwing sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SmoothSwing holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmoothSwing has 12K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 11% of Shot Tracer's written reviews are positive against 50% of SmoothSwing's.

Shot Tracer ships an update every 4 days, SmoothSwing monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
