# Shapes vs BlockMaster

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Shapes at none against BlockMaster's 1. Shapes also leads on ratings volume (7 vs 1). BlockMaster's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 36 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlockMaster sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Shapes asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Shapes against 5.0 for BlockMaster. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shapes has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Shapes ships an update every 36 months, BlockMaster every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
