# SmartZip vs Pocket

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SmartZip at none against Pocket's 4. Pocket's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. SmartZip asks for nothing beyond the download.

SmartZip ships an update every 4 months, Pocket weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 27, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
