# Countdown with widget vs Event Countdown

The clearest difference is rating: Event Countdown at 5.0 against Countdown with widget's 4.4. Event Countdown also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.0). Countdown with widget's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 14 months) and review sentiment (27% vs 0%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown with widget sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Event Countdown sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Event Countdown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown with widget has 2.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Countdown with widget's written reviews are positive against 0% of Event Countdown's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Countdown with widget ships an update every 5 weeks, Event Countdown every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 15, 2026 respectively.
