# Polls for iMessage vs NeedlePointer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Polls for iMessage at none against NeedlePointer's 2. Polls for iMessage also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (11K vs 9). NeedlePointer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NeedlePointer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Polls for iMessage asks for nothing beyond the download.

Polls for iMessage holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Polls for iMessage has 11K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Polls for iMessage's written reviews are positive against 100% of NeedlePointer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Polls for iMessage ships an update monthly, NeedlePointer weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
