# Widgit Writer vs Time Detective

The clearest difference is update cadence: Time Detective at every 3 days against Widgit Writer's every 2 months. Widgit Writer's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Widgit Writer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Time Detective sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Widgit Writer ships an update every 2 months, Time Detective every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
