# Homebrew Timer vs Brew Cloud

The clearest difference is price: Brew Cloud at Free against Homebrew Timer's $2.99. Brew Cloud also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.0) and update cadence (weekly vs every 7 months). Homebrew Timer's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On device support there is nothing between them.

Brew Cloud is free to download; Homebrew Timer costs $2.99 up front. Brew Cloud sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Homebrew Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Brew Cloud holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brew Cloud has 353 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Homebrew Timer's written reviews are positive against 54% of Brew Cloud's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
