# iTV vs SPlay

The clearest difference is rating: SPlay at 4.4 against iTV's 3.8. SPlay also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). iTV's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (33% vs 0%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iTV sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and SPlay sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SPlay holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iTV has 347 ratings behind it against 51, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of iTV's written reviews are positive against 0% of SPlay's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iTV ships an update every 3 days, SPlay every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
