# Simple Scales vs Simple Weight

The clearest difference is price: Simple Weight at Free against Simple Scales's $0.99. Simple Weight also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.9). Simple Scales's advantage is review sentiment (53% vs 25%) and ratings volume (515 vs 1). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Simple Weight is free to download; Simple Scales costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Simple Weight holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Scales has 515 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Simple Scales's written reviews are positive against 25% of Simple Weight's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Simple Scales ships an update every 7 months, Simple Weight every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
