# WhoeverNote vs Minimal | Notes

The clearest difference is monetization model: WhoeverNote at free with in-app purchases against Minimal | Notes's subscription. WhoeverNote also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Minimal | Notes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (81% vs 53%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WhoeverNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Minimal | Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WhoeverNote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Minimal | Notes has 294 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of WhoeverNote's written reviews are positive against 81% of Minimal | Notes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
