# VideoNotebook vs Pixel Shape

The clearest difference is ads: VideoNotebook at none against Pixel Shape's shown. VideoNotebook also leads on iOS requirement (9.3 vs 12.0). Pixel Shape's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VideoNotebook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Pixel Shape sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VideoNotebook ships an update every 4 months, Pixel Shape every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
