# Pyone Play vs GChord

The clearest difference is ads: Pyone Play at none against GChord's shown. Pyone Play also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 879). GChord's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Pyone Play against 4.5 for GChord. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pyone Play has 26K ratings behind it against 879, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 57% and 57% positive.

Pyone Play ships an update every 2 months, GChord every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
