# Pyone Play vs Cherry FM

The clearest difference is update cadence: Cherry FM at every 4 days against Pyone Play's every 2 months. Cherry FM also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 17.6). Pyone Play's advantage is ratings volume (26K vs 4). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Pyone Play against 4.5 for Cherry FM. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pyone Play has 26K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Pyone Play ships an update every 2 months, Cherry FM every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
