# Ember vs OTKAX

The clearest difference is rating: Ember at 3.3 against OTKAX's 2.3. Ember also leads on ratings volume (7.5K vs 3). OTKAX's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 18%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ember holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ember has 7.5K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of Ember's written reviews are positive against 50% of OTKAX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ember ships an update every 2 months, OTKAX every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
