# LINKA Smart Lock vs Proton Drive

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: LINKA Smart Lock at none against Proton Drive's 9. LINKA Smart Lock also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.1) and device support (4 vs 2). Proton Drive's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 30) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proton Drive sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. LINKA Smart Lock asks for nothing beyond the download.

LINKA Smart Lock holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Drive has 1.3K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of LINKA Smart Lock's written reviews are positive against 37% of Proton Drive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LINKA Smart Lock ships an update every 5 weeks, Proton Drive fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
