# Cool Type Keyboard vs Keyboard

The clearest difference is rating: Cool Type Keyboard at 4.4 against Keyboard's 2.0. Cool Type Keyboard also leads on ratings volume (42 vs 3). Keyboard's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cool Type Keyboard sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Keyboard sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cool Type Keyboard holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cool Type Keyboard has 42 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Cool Type Keyboard's written reviews are positive against 67% of Keyboard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cool Type Keyboard ships an update every 7 months, Keyboard fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 8, 2026.
