# Complex vs Paradise NYC

The clearest difference is monetization model: Paradise NYC at free against Complex's free with in-app purchases. Paradise NYC also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks). Complex's advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 2). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Complex against 5.0 for Paradise NYC. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Complex has 1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of Complex's written reviews are positive against 100% of Paradise NYC's.

Complex ships an update every 2 weeks, Paradise NYC every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
