# Complex vs CardCata

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Complex at none against CardCata's 1. Complex also leads on ratings volume (1K vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CardCata sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per month. Complex asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Complex against 5.0 for CardCata. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Complex has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Complex ships an update every 2 weeks, CardCata monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
