# ShakeTips vs Microsoft Loop

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ShakeTips at 100% against Microsoft Loop's 21%. ShakeTips also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). Microsoft Loop's advantage is ratings volume (5K vs 5) and update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Microsoft Loop sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. ShakeTips asks for nothing beyond the download.

ShakeTips holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft Loop has 5K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of ShakeTips's written reviews are positive against 21% of Microsoft Loop's.

ShakeTips ships an update every 5 months, Microsoft Loop monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
